BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, does not require you to cut OEM wires or install aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is hooked up to your BMW's CAN network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that can be accessible via buttons that are installed in your car. This lets you enter key sequences that are not accessible through the standard menus for media. Service Mode / Valet Mode

This allows you to start the vehicle with your keys but prevents the engine from restarting until the correct code has been entered. It also allows you to take the car to the garage for servicing etc without having to worry about it getting tampered with or stolen by a mechanic whilst you wait.

Once the service / valet mode is activated, it will stop your BMW from being able to be driven after it has been started. This prevents anyone from test driving it whilst you are away. Once you return, the car will revert to normal and prevent it from being damaged or stolen.

The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you require are the correct keys because the device does not use the original remotes, but can be used with them. Anti-Hijack

With the advent of high-tech thieves becoming increasingly and more sophisticated the security technology has to improve, which is why Ghost has developed this discreet and unobtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to stop thieves from adding an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it off. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and uses the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create an individual push sequence that requires to be completed before the engine can be started.

If the anti-hijacking mode has been activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. Once the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it fails to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without having to enter a PIN.

If you own an GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to navigate using your navigation system even when the vehicle is stationary. You can also use your mobile phone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is inserted into it. This pin code must be chosen prior to the vehicle's start. This prevents thieves from bypassing the system with an unauthorized clone or replacement ECU.

If the vehicle is being stolen the Ghost will go into service mode and stop all functions until you have the PIN code or the mobile application to disarm it.
