The Eufy 11S robot vacuum is among the most affordable self-emptying vacuums available on the market. It ably sucked up dry oatmeal from hard floors and low-pile carpeting in our tests. Its dustbin is easy to empty and open -it's much simpler than some other models in the same price range.

It recharges at its base and resumes cleaning when it's fully charged. Its obstacle-avoidance technology gets caught in cords and socks and isn't able to get under the thresholds of low.

1. iRobot 11S

The 11S is a less expensive self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner that lots of people seem to like. It's good at scooting under furniture and seems to be a good choice for people with hard floors or who wish to perform light daily cleaning. It does a good job on carpets with a medium or low pile. Similar to the Roomba by iRobot Roomba it also has a huge dirt compartment and uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also comes with a remote control that's easy to use and you can schedule daily cleaning routines with the app. The battery lasts for around an hour, and the dustbin can be easily empty by removing it from its dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a great robot vacuum and mop with a surprisingly wide array of automation options. It is available in three models, the basic S7, the S7 MaxV Plus and the S7 MaxV Ultra. Only the latter comes with an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its home base and empty the debris in a dust bag, or reservoir, drain the dirty water tank, and wash its mopping pads.

The S7's sensors work to eliminate obstacles and clean the floors. It can identify floor types, save maps of rooms and zones and even detect levels of dirt. It's also capable of scheduling and executing spot-cleaning sessions. It did well in standard tests, however it couldn't match the iRobot Roomba j7+ for the carpet deep cleaning test.

You can program the S7 with the companion app to run a cleaning cycle according to your schedule. You can choose the cleaning mode, such as eco or automatic, as well as the day, week, or time. You can also select whether the robot will stop if it is running out of energy or encounters an obstacle.

You can still use the S7 if you don't own a smartphone by connecting the charging dock to the remote control. It is easy to set up and comes with a large bin which can be easily emptied (albeit loudly) to a trashcan when it's full. It can also be programmed to clean your entire house on a schedule.

The IQ XL is able to connect to your WiFi at home which allows you to keep track of its cleaning progress from the Shark app. The app allows you to create a cleaning schedule and also receive push notifications on its current status as well as pause cleaning and then resume cleaning or set it to a single area. It can also be controlled by voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will inform you the power mode it's currently in--Eco, Normal or Max. We didn't discover that any of these modes had a significant impact to the cleaning performance.

Once it finishes a cleaning cycle after which the IQ XL automatically empties the bin into its base, which then automatically emptys. The bin can store up to 60 days of debris so you don't need to empty it more than once unless your pets have hair that is long. Shark IQ XL feels a bit less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It's good at cleaning carpeted floors, but doesn't match the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of the performance of bare floors. The i7 also feels more sturdy, is more durable and requires less maintenance. It incurs lower recurring cost, charges faster and has similar battery performance. It also has more advanced automation features, such as no-go zones and the ability to choose specific rooms to be cleaned.

iRobot J7+

This robot vac/mop combo is a rare beast, because it can do both tasks very well. iRobot Combo j7+ has all the features and smarts of its j7 equivalent, including LiDAR maps and Self empty cordless Vacuum-emptying. It also comes with additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The new acoustic sensors help the j7+ recognize flooring types, meaning it can decide between mopping and vacuuming when it first enters the room. This information can also be utilized to help prioritize cleaning rooms with carpets or rugs versus those with hard flooring.

Like most robotic vacuums, the j7+ is surprisingly quiet when it's running, and quieter when mopping. Its maximum reading on our decibel meter was 64db, which is comparable to the noise of general office chatter.

You can easily set up a cleaning schedule and change what happens when the dust canister fills. The j7+ can be controlled using voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.) The app lets you create and view maps in your home.

In our tests, we found that the j7+ was a solid performer on carpeted and hard floors, and it cleaned up most of the dirt we threw at it. It isn't the best at dealing with pet hair and large debris like sand, but it is able to remove these items with a little more effort. It also has decent navigation abilities and a pair of cliff sensors that keep it from falling down the stairs or stumbling on furniture legs.

We did notice a couple of small niggles with the j7+. These include that it could snag cords and carpets, and it doesn't always shut off its mopping when it's done vacuuming. Overall, this is an excellent model that checks all the right boxes.

iRobot j7+ has also one of the most efficient auto-emptying systems we've tried. It puts its 14oz 0.4-liter dust canister into the base station, where it automatically emptys itself for you. This reduces the amount of garbage you have to throw away and self empty Cordless vacuum you'll need to change the reusable dust bag that is on the dock about every 60 days or so, based on how often you use the J7+.
