Avon is initially a little uncomfortable by her rebellious behavior but he soon learns to admire her.

I did find it difficult to determine who was who at the beginning, since Heyer refers to the Duke using a variety of different names in the first couple of pages. Once you have it figured out, it becomes easier to read. This book was excellent and I would highly recommend it.
